The Medic- Enough Said review

The same thing is said with every EP, The Medic gets better and better every time he releases a new project, and his latest is only proving that even more.

2018 saw the rise of up and coming rapper and singer Ahmed Mohsin, better known by his stage name, ‘The Medic.’ With the release of his compilation project, ‘Watching Me.’ The Medic has constantly improved his craft every project since then, with his two EP’s, ‘Breakdowns and Breakthroughs’ and ‘Perfect For Awhile.’ Now, The Medic has returned with his latest EP, ‘Enough Said,’ which is said to be the final chapter to the EP’s.

The EP begins with a heartfelt ‘Fix My Ways,’ the perfect beginning to a very truthful project. In the song he raps and melodically sings over a slow, but perfectly produced instrumental, which fits astonishingly with the subject matter.
Mohsin covers many topics in the song, from his experience with a friend dying in a car crash, his devastating suicide attempts in 2018, to issues with relationships. It’s a great song that sets the pace beautifully for the project.

Though the EP starts with a heartfelt track, The Medic continues to never allow himself to be predictable, as he switches up the pace with a hard hitting song with ‘Pop Off.’ The track has an intense beat that allows The Medic to seamlessly flow over in a braggadocios way, making it one of the two upbeat and __ songs on the ep, alongside ‘Time Zones Interlude,’ a track that shows Mohsin rapping at the best he ever has. ‘Time Zones Interlude’ showcases the best flows and rhyme patterns we have heard from The Medic. He has never sounded more confident than on this song. A great track that fans can add to their gym or hype playlist for when they’re in that mood.

With the upbeat tracks out of the way, The second half of the EP gives fans what they love most from The Medic, the truthful and sincere tracks. This starts with ‘True Enough,’ a definite highlight in the project. The track acts as a discussion with his girl about his current life and where he’s at, including his music career, his thoughts about the future. It gives a lot of perspective as to what is on Mohsin’s mind.

The next 2 tracks give more perspective into the Canadian artist’s life, with ‘Crying for U,’ a beautifully melodic song for the girl in his life, and ‘Last One Standing,’ an incredibly truthful song, which has the only feature on the project, with Jenna Bennett on the chorus, who’s voice adds to the emotion in the track perfectly.
The EP ends with ‘December 17 Voicemail,’ which is a continuation from the interlude on his last EP, Perfect For Awhile, which was titled ‘3 AM Text Interlude,’ which was a recording of him talking on the phone with the same girl. The placement of this voicemail works perfectly to update the listener on the storyline of these calls and voicemails with this girl, and keeps the listener wanting to know what happens next, which will potentially be found out on the next project.

‘Enough Said’ showcases The Medic musically at his best. Expressing himself deeper than he has every before, giving his best melodies, and rapping better than ever. This project is a great listen, one that I recommend any music listener to check out as it is by an up and coming artist that deserves to be spread and heard of more.
